Hey buddy, can ya spare a dime?...uh...I mean 30 billion dollars

This is me with my wares ( 9"X12" watercolor portraits that I do for people that send me a photo file that I can work from. A single subject portrait sells for $300. Can't beat that! ) at a community event in Sacramento, California. The state of California is flat broke. Can anyone of you spare 30 billion dollars? Pretty please. We all sure would appreciate it!!! And if you can't spring for the 30 billion, how about $300 for a Lobenberg watercolor portrait? ( Not matted and framed ). Think about it. The winter holiday season is just around the corner.

Hi David,

I love your work, but as you know portraits are my thing. Your portraits are just gorgeous, so lush and vibrant.

Take care,

Barbara

Thanks, Barbara. I'm attempting to add more color vibrancy into my portraits. Not as bright as yours, just a few notches higher. So far, my watercolor self portrait got to that point.

Hope the show went well for you and you received some commissions. I have a show this weekend and I am hoping for some sales, too. I wonder how everyone is doing at the fairs this summer???

It's a rough economy, Kathy, but with pluck and luck, we'll make it through! Good luck to the both of us.

Hey, thanks, Laurens. Only took me 40 years to get to this point. Not bad for watercolor.

David, your portraits are cheap at twice the price. So beautifully done. Are you getting many takers?

Mryna, Thank you for the your comment which, I might add, is true. Fortunately I can paint these within an hour unless I miss the mark. Then my hourly rate can drop preciipitously! So far my marketing efforts are just beginning. I assume that you are successful with selling portraits from time to time?
