Stone Men

An acrylic triptych on canvas that I have on display in a figurative show at Elliot Fouts Gallery here in my hometown of Sacramento, CA. About ten artists are displaying their figurative work. Who are these weird and bulky guys? They are strong men athletes who participate events such as automobile lifting, iron pole flipping, and the "Atlas Ball" lift and placement. That's what these big boys are doing, and I find great visual delight in this particular strong man event. If these painting sell, I'll stand on my head and eat a bug (one of those grey bugs that ball up in your hand)!

Last Cup..., thanks for that inside computer screen cleaning application. It really works! Oh yes, and thanks for your comment. Gladyer like it.

Fantastic. I like the middle one most for the 'roundness' of it.

I hope it sells..... I want to see that grey bug go down.

Well David; I'd like to hold you to that promise and hope you'll videotape it! I suspect these will indeed sell, especially if seen by one of these strongman types. I think it is a fabulous arrangement and love the painting. Beautiful work, truly!!

I'm tempted to buy but can't really see these big boys hanging over the fireplace.

Dominique - it would have to go up as he will be on his head.

Will there be blog documentation of you eating a bug??

These are amazing. My arms are sore from looking at these bulky ball guys! They are wonderful!

Sujit,
Thanks! I agree...the middle big boy is my fav. too.

Dominique,
Refer to Onpainting's (Bill's) comment...I'll need to swallow the bug UP...but only IF I sell them!

Thanks a bunch, Autumn. I have mixed feelings about not selling the art or selling the art. You can understand this, I'm sure!

Thanks Onpainting (Bill) for setting us all straight about said bug's throat journey!

Thanks for the positive comment, Liz. Yes, I will document the bug consumption if my art sells. I believe this coming Spring is the perfect time to find Potato Bugs!

My dad was crazy about these guys! He thought physical strength was essential to being a man. He always cultivated his own strength through exercise. It's an old fashioned notion which he took very seriously. These are fabulous in that they remind me of my dad.

Well, Lifeartist (Davida), you should see me pick up and move about a #20 watercolor round. It's awesome!
