Observations and thoughts about the fine art of painting
love the mint/aqua greens in this david, very sharp and fresh, great reflections too
This is a nice piece. Having just produced a bevy of bad outdoor studies, I better able to appreciate the skill.
Fantastic David, I love the way you've treated everything here. The sheer line is right on the money.
Cooper: what the hell is a sheer line? Thanks for stopping by, and I always look to seeing your nautical paintings. You do such a great job on ships. Wish we had more here at the port of Sacto.
Hey On Painting...you're not the only one that can do bad outdoor studies. Why are they always such hard work!? Why can't the little bastards paint themselves!!! I'm pissed...time to knock down a few Jack Daniels.
Rob: I'm in my Mint period.
I was thinking of you last Friday 'cause you said you were going to go back and try another one of this old tug.Nice pair to the first one.
I seem to have developed a thing for this tugboat. A local university has a rowing facility on the other side of the tug. I'm going to see if I can paint over there as well, By the way, the tugboat's name is not Scuffy but Louie.
Hey it's Scuffy! Love it!
Another Scuffy fan...thanks Mary!
