Best Of Show
Just won "Best of Show" for a big annual art competition here in Sacramento. The paintings and sculptures entered into the competition had to relate to the American River, one of two great rivers that come together and run through Sacramento, California. The other river is the Sacramento River. This was an acrylic painting on stretched canvas that I completed more than a year ago.

Outstanding! David, I remember the old days when you taught at the now defunct Graphic Hobby House a watercolor class on painting a yellow kayak in fast water. {This painting reminds me of that} It was my very first watercolor class and I loved it. I've been hooked on watercolor and you ever since. And, oh, by the way, I want my 10 points. Remember, I did a "book cover" about you as a class project, I got an "A". You're a class act Dave. Way to go! It's a wonderful painting and it's easy to see why it won.
Standing beside it, you look so dignified and subdued. I was expecting something a bit more flamboyance from a man of your youthful exuberance and dramatic flair. I hope you're feeling well!

Gary, that photo was taken just after I had done a back flip! I'm sure you periodically do back flips. Gets the kinks out of the old bones.
