I will do my very first outing sketches outdoors this afternoon with 2 friends but I'm not going to turn into a princess of the desert ... I'm still wondering how to get organized for watercolors outside, take just the essentials, but what's essential: a hat, some colors, a rigid support for paper, water and a palette? I see you have a white parasol ...

Fabulous seeing you in action. I like the headgear; keeps you from getting a sunburn on the neck!

Lydie, Unless you can find shade or an umbrella, you will find it extremely difficult to paint on a sunny day with all that reflected sun light bouncing off your paper and into your eyes.

Dana, when it comes to geeky neck wear, I guess I am da conquerer!

Autumn, It was that or hiring a lackey to hold an umbrella over me. I can't afford and Umbrella lackey.

Sue, yep, everybody laughs at me when I wear my semi-pro plein air cap with neck protector.
