A new Huell Howser portrait

Here is my final portrait of PBS star Huell Houser. The face is less worked over and the background , which always challenges me, has an energy (through brushwork) , and colors that not only reflect the upbeat personality of Huell, but harmonize nicely with the colors in his face. Would you agree?

Yep, that's a keeper. It catches that sunny quality of Huell. The background is an excellent choice.

As I've said before, and I'll say again, David -- You are da man! Another gorgeous portrait. Yes. It's good (of course they all were -- but the most important person in this
equation is you.) Yes. Fantastic. I don't know the man, but I hope he is highly impressed and honoured.

Your fan in Toronto,
Barbara

As much as I loved the last batch (especially the third one down), I do think you've managed quite a bit more depth in this one, David. A keeper indeed!

Man, you're fantastic at these!! I was just marveling over the Lehrer one again, and this is also just wonderful. You have a great gift for capturing people, and you seem to have taken things to another level. Jim Lehrer and this guy should pay you some big bucks for these, they'll never have a better portrait!

Dianne, "sunny quality"... I like that fitting description. Gotta tellya, background are super important and I struggle on those!

Barbara, Huell is a good ole boy from Tennessee who has a extremely successful program called California's Gold where he travels the state investigating all of its nooks and crannies both well known and off the beaten path.

Autumn, Thanks and I think that is another appropriate description..."depth".

Nick! Thank you for your kind words. I am trying to do just that...take my acrylic portraiture to another level. Actually, I'd like to do the same thing with my h2o portraiture work. Don't I wish they'd pay me some big bucks!!
