Hi David,

Nice one. I like the spots on the cow-- they look splashed on in red paint. Cool.

Take care,

Barbara

Hi David,

A little known fact about me is that my Dad owned a herd of beef cattle for about a year, when he contemplated leaving business and becoming a farmer. Actually he was fired, and dreamt of being a farmer.
But alas -- raising beef was not to be his destiny -- instead he sold the farm, moved to Ottawa,(our nation's capital)landed a government job and painted in oil every chance he got.

So I am a big fan of the cow. Plus
I married a guy who was raised on a dairy farm, and took care of the farm for three months with his nine
year old brother when he was eight.

We just look like pure city folk -- but we have country ways. Love your cow painting.

Take care,

Barbara

Another "Udderly" terrific piece- love the light behind Bessie.

Cows have such great, open faces and those eyes!

David, your painting is nice, as usual. But I am most impressed with your drawing skills. I've seen your chickens, bears, other animals, people, landscapes, a bunch of different subjects. From Chris Webber to a cow, your basic drawing always captures the essence of the subject. The color is the very yummy icing on the cake.

Hi David. Moo to you too! I like the freshness of this painting. Holly

You are right, Jan. It is my drawing ability that allows me to paint. Drawing is the foundation to good painting in my humble opinion.

Thanks, Bonnie. I'm udderly delighted with your reaction to my bovine h2o>

Moo back, Milind, my far off painting buddy.

Love this one David, those little pink tips are wonderful. Superb granulation and the sense of life in the wash remains, which is what we're looking for in a watercolour IMHO

Thanks Pierre. Your English is fine. I (unfortunately) cannot speak but four words of French! I'll check out your blog.

Thank you David down under! I am almost ready to tackle Indian turban man but watercolored in a less traditional manner than this bovine...I hope!
