Only the hardy and brave do this!

Three painters that were on a plein air outing with me last week on an overcast, cold, and breezy day. My watercolor here shows one of them painting with the lovely pond and vineyard in the background. Of course, I know of other artists that work en plein air in he friging falling snow!

Yes, some artists are truly crazy! ha ha Lovely outcome in the painting you did, though :) Not for me, I'm afraid; I hate being cold but glad there are those out there who brave the elements.

Rhonda, Despite the lack of creature comforts, there is a certain joy whilst working outdoors. Not every time... only some of the time!

How cold was it? I didn't know it got below 50 in California!!!!!!! lol The bigger problem for me is the rain - always threatening but worth the risk for all the fall colors.

yeah,,,I think your little band of artsy outdoor types NEED to come and paint where "real men" paint....cooooold...right like CA ever gets cooooold. Hello, I went to UCLA........oh yeah that is a little bit further south than you guys...but I know cold is all relative. I worked in Phoenix and froze but patoootie off the minute it got below 70...I would wear a SKI JACKET!!! HELLO.....now since I am back home here I sweat at 70° so
I know what you are going through in that blistery CA coldness!!!
Take care you guys...next time you ought to go dressed for such weather!
