All That Glitters

Here is a cropped view (so you can see the detail better) of a second watercolor I just finished of the young lady with hat (previous post). I used a Golden medium that you can apply that has gold glitters in it. Pretty gimmiky but kind cool! Click on this image to enlarge it in order to see more of the reflective effect. A bit too subtle in the glitz department but never- the- less, I think the younger David Bowey would have grooved this comely lady's scarf!

Love how you keep changing the color -- especially on the eyes and the eyebrows! very cool :)

It's fun, they hang really the light but use sparingly. How to translate gimmiky?

Meera, I love eyes!

Lydie, "gimmiky" means something like a cheap trick or kind of silly. Hope that helps.

Autumn, thanks and I hope not too gimmicky!

Rhonda, yep, some things need to be used VERY sparingly, although there is an all- glitter painting in the modern art section of our local art museum that is actually kind of cool!

I like the glitter and that is not over the top. Beings that I design greeting cards all year long,,,yes, I have had glitter all over my worktable, on my face, on my cat.
The poor cat was the laughing stock of the neighborhood....no other cats would play with him. They were probably blinded by all the glitz,,,and to boot it was PINK and my neighbor asked when do his piercings come in and what rock band will he be singing for. mmm
maybe David Bowie ,,,that would have been coooool.
