How to paint reflective"silver" metal

Paint all the color/value shapes you see, and ta dah!...reflective, silver plated metal! Noted oil painter Kevin Macphearson calls color/value shapes, "valhues". Clever! Here I painted valhues.

This is beautiful, David. I must ask if it is an antique too? I don't often see electric tea kettles these days, though I haven't really looked either. There is something art deco about this design though so I am thinking antique and beautiful!

Gorgeous. Super painting of the kettle.

Take care,

Autumn, Right on, girl!! My wife purchased a set of kitchen ware about 15 yrs. ago from a major manufacturer. The wares were retro designed, and this plug in tea kettle was part of the collection.

G'day David, this is a beauty! Hey it goes beyond technique this! I hope your students realize that! This is a real gem of a work of art imo! Not merely a study (not that you said it was). But it goes beyond 'painting reflections' which *you* can ace in your sleep imo. You're way too modest! This is great genre art! a great composition. Very strong. Congrats.
best wishes,
wayne
