Huell Howser Iterations

Huell Howser is a well-known PBS television host who has a show titled California's Gold. This is an acrylic portrait of him that I have been working on. The beauty of acrylic painting is that you can make changes very quickly unlike with slow drying oil. Here are my changes. The bottom photo is my last change. Am I done with Huell?...maybe.

  1. Those are great versions of Huell. The likeness is excellent too, I'm a fan of "California's Gold" too. He's showed me a lot of places I've missed and a lot of places I haven't seen for a while. You've caught his sunny persona!

  4. I like them all too, but prefer the last one, I guess because he looks less tanned.

  5. Autumn, Thank you Autumn. I may do another painting of Huell. I'm not sure that I am satisfied with this painting.

  8. I love all of them David. The second to last and the final one are my favorites. The bold colour is gorgeous and an inspiration to me. I'm going back to work.

    Your friend in Toronto,

  9. Arti, The background colors have been driving me crazy...dark to make his white hair stand out or should it get lost in the bright light behind him?
