Bowling balls?
A watercolor I did awhile back of a beach near Monterey, California where the shore rocks look like bowling balls. Nothing like stone bowling balls on a stormy beach!
I love this one! Actually...it looks like the exact one I purchased from you for my parents!!
There's another beach just like this a little further down HW 1 called Jade Cove beach where the waves have pushed all the rocks against the cliffs making hills of smoothed rock. Also the cliffs are made of jade and serpentine that are constantly eroding so you can take some souvenirs home ;)
Amber, Yes, you purchased what I think was thye better of my two studies. I think this one is a close second to the one you got. It's not too often that I paint two "winners" if I may be ever so humble. Have a great holiday!
Roll them all you want, I don't think you'll ever get to conquer those waves! Beautiful scene...
ReplyDeleteWow, I just love the energy in this painting. The sky is really atmospheric and the colours are gorgeous too.
ReplyDeletegreat effect david!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would be able to pick up one of those "bowling balls" without getting a hernia, Susan, and I just had a hernia operation this year!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sandra!
