A fellow artist who follows my blog, Bobbie Heath, USA, suggested that the next subject for my (our) "Self Portrait Global Love In" blog be a self portrait of the artist wearing a hat. Great idea except that I'd like to broaden the parameters to the following: YOUR SELF PORTRAIT WEARING A HAT, SCARF, BANDANA,TURBIN OR WHATEVER HEAD WEAR WORN IN YOUR PART OF THE GLOBE. ANY MEDIUM FROM TRADITIONAL TO DIGITAL AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN. TWO DIMENSIONAL TO THREE DIMENSIONAL. DUE DATE TO GET YOUR ART TO ME WILL BE SEPTEMBER 12 (that's two full months and some change).
We need to expand the reach of the SPGLI (Self Portrait Global Love In)...if you are in touch with other artists living on different parts of our globe, let them know of our latest assignment.
This posted portrait is NOT me. It is a watercolor I painted a few months ago of a man dressed up to look like an Irish Leprechaun. He is wearing a very jaunty hat, indeed! No, this painting of mine is not qualified for the next assignment. I will be doing ME, David Lobenberg, USA, wearing a hat that I hope will give me a very rakish look!

I LOVE painting people wearing hats. I think I look stupid in a hat, so this will be a fun challenge. Thanks for getting the ball rolling!

ReplyDeleteDavid, I am thrilled that you liked the suggestion. Now I just have to go through my hat, scarf, and visor collection and figure out what to wear! I'll bet that will be easier than the actual painting.

ReplyDeleteDustin, I have no parameters for files sent to me. I will probably rue this state of affairs one day. Just send me a file that's not huge or tiny- just an average file that won't take forever to upload onto the blog. How's that for specifics! Looking forward to seeing your SP!
